Contest and file specifications:
- All entries should feature the mascot without a background. In addition, he must be done with a full body shot with none of the body parts cut off (including weaponry) to give us more options on how to place the entry. At the same time, though we will try to use the full shot, cropping the image will be at the discretion of PDS-AIJC should it be deemed necessary.
- The files must be a high quality transparent PNG format (PNGs can only be done on RGB color format). Follow this link if you're unsure how to create a transparent PNG file: http://www.ehow.com/how_2034277_make-png-photoshop.html. This is to ensure that the picture can be altered to match the contents of the advert that it is going to be used in. For example, the entry can be placed over a curved line or text without the canvas dimensions covering it. We want the transparent file to show the element right underneath the mascot instead of a 'square' picture showing over on top of the advert background.
- Picture dimensions must be greater than 1000 x 1000 pixels. Higher resolution pictures can guaranteed a higher detailed print. Maximum canvas size and orientation is strictly up the individual artist for their own quality purposes. For instance, I have the mascot already painted and ready to go. He's done on 4800 x 3600 on one piece and 9600 x 7200 on another. Both are done in 72 PPI resolution. It gives us enough flexibility for the advertisements that will go out eventually. Of course, you don't have to go that high.
- All art mediums and styles (doesn't have to be anime related) are accepted so long as it is in a transparent PNG file with a high quality resolution in the end. In other words, scan and erase excess 'background' areas around the mascot prior to submitting if you're drawing him in real media.
- Submit your entry (include your full name) to phdigitalstrat@gmail.com. This is mandatory so PDS-AIJC will have official acknowledgment of your entry for administrative purposes. Other than that, you can also submit your entry at our website, on our Facebook page, or through a Twitter message.
Fun entries:
- Fun entries are certainly welcomed! File formats can either be in a high resolution JPG, PNG, or GIF. These do not have to be transparent images. However, PDS-AIJC will reserve the right to include or not include all fun entries in its advert.
